Use Slate on
Slate for Windows
Lives in the system tray, by the clock. The same recorder, the same hotkeys, the same link on your clipboard the second you stop.
Signed by MetaCTO. Windows may still say "Windows protected your PC" while Slate is new: choose More info, then Run anyway.
Slate for Chrome
A toolbar button on every page. Record a tab, a window or the whole screen, with the camera bubble drawn on the page itself.
Slate in the browser
Open the app and press record. The one that works on a locked-down laptop, and the one people you send a request link to use without an account.
Slate on your phone
Record the whole phone, the camera, or a voice note. Watch what people sent you, reply in the comments, and approve a sign-in from your pocket.

What each one can do
All five record the whole screen, pause and resume mid-take, and land in the same library. These are the differences, and mostly they are the platform's rather than ours.
