Put the recording on the issue.

Send a Slate recording to Jira as a new issue or a comment on one. It plays right in the description, and with Slate for Jira, in the issue’s sidebar too.

Already on Slate? Connect Jira opens your Settings and starts it. Jira Cloud only.

Share to Jira

Share → Jira, from any recording.

  1. New issue Pick a project and an issue type. The title starts as the recording’s title, and the description as its AI summary when anyone with the link can watch it. Edit either before you send. Slate adds the player right in the description, with a “Watch the recording on Slate (3:14)” link below it.
  2. Add to existing Find the issue by its key, like ABC-123, or by words from its title. Slate posts a comment with your note, the player and the link.
  3. In the issue’s Web links Either way, the recording is added to the issue’s Web links, once per issue, however many times you send it.
  4. Remembered, and tracked Slate remembers the site, project and issue type you used last. On your own recordings, Share lists the issues each one went to.

Issues and comments are created as you, in your Jira site.

Slate for Jira

Watch it without leaving the issue.

Slate for Jira adds a Slate Video panel to the issue sidebar. It plays the recordings linked to that issue, and it only appears on issues that have one. Recordings anyone with the link can watch play for anyone; private ones show an Open in Slate button.

Your data

What goes to Jira, and what does not.

  • Slate stores no personal data about Atlassian users.
  • The tokens that let Slate act for you in Jira are encrypted at rest.
  • For a recording that is not viewable by anyone with the link, only the link goes into Jira. The summary does not.
  • Transcripts never go to Jira.

Questions

Questions.

Does it work with Jira Data Center or Server?
No. Jira Cloud only.
Whose name is on the issue?
Yours. Each person connects their own Jira site, and issues and comments are created as them, with their Jira permissions.
Do I need the Jira app to share to Jira?
No. Share to Jira works as soon as you connect Jira in Settings. The app adds the Slate Video panel to the issue’s sidebar; without it, everything Share to Jira puts in the issue is still there.
Who can watch a recording in Jira?
The same people who can watch it on Slate. A recording anyone with the link can watch plays for anyone who opens the issue. A private one shows an Open in Slate button instead, and plays there for the people it is shared with.
What does it cost?
Share to Jira and Slate for Jira are not priced separately. They are part of Slate.
